It seemed i was wrong underestimating the efforts of the Arab League… or wasn’t I???? Ministers representing the Arab League visited Lebanon yesterday to discuss the situation with the major parties and i guess they have done magic… They proposed the following solution which all parties decided to accept so far:

• The government withdraws its decision regarding the communication and security network of Hizbullah located at the airport… decision that led to last week’s violence. 
• The opposition withdraws its protestors from Beirut’s downtown.
• All Lebanese parties meet in few days in Qatar to form a unity governement and elect a new president for Lebanon…

 

Well it seems the history is repeating itself… In 1990, the Taef agreement which resulted from the gathering of all Lebanese parties in Saudi Arabia has put end to the 15 year civil war.

 However i don’t believe the next meeting in Qatar will reach to solid decisions as long as the blood thirsty leaders are the ones who are gonna decide on the faith of Lebanon… These leaders have shown their animal instincts and imposing the rule of the jungle in 6 days of battles. Anyway I really hope i am wrong… because every Lebanese is fed up with this crisis.
